About the Training Program

Occupational safety and health is a discipline with a broad scope involving many specialized fields. In its broadest sense, it aims at:

  • Promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations;
  • Prevention among workers of adverse effects on health caused by their working conditions;
  • Protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health;
  • Protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health;
  • Adaptation of work to humans.

Occupational safety and health encompass the social, mental and physical well-being of employees.Successful occupational health and safety practice requires the collaboration and participation of both employers and workers in health and safety programs, and involves the consideration of issues relating to occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, toxicology, education, engineering safety, ergonomics, psychology, etc.

Work plays a central role in people’s lives, since most workers spend at least eight hours a day in the workplace, whether it is on a plantation, or in an office, factory, etc. Therefore, work environments should be safe and healthy. Yet this is not the case for many work places. Every day workers all over the world are faced with a multitude of health hazards, such as:dusts;gases;noise;vibration; and extreme temperatures.

Objectives of the Training Program

At the end of this program, trainees will be able to:

  1. Explain that occupational safety and health is more than accident prevention — that it encompasses all aspects of working conditions;
  2. Explain why management’s commitment to health and safety is crucial;
  3. Explain why training is a critical component of any health and safety program;
  4. Recognize a number of occupational hazards and some of the types of work generally associated with those hazards;

Who should participate

This is a Two-day training program designed for middle / senior level managers in industries. Participation from any industry is welcome as the topics are generic and applicable to any company. Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance issued by Texas Healthtech Institute, USA.

Program Schedule

The program will be from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm each day with short breaks for tea and snacks. Refreshments and lunch will be provided at the program venue.

Participants shall have to arrange their own accommodation. Budget hotels are available with in distance of 3 km.
